From April 2024 , eligible working parents in England with children aged 2 will have access to 15 hours of FREE childcare. We have Nursery places available for 2, 3 and 4 year olds
  • Welcome to Newtown Nursery School

Newtown Nursery School will make every effort to keep the school open.
Sometimes during bad weather school may find it hard to remain open as we must consider the health and safety of all pupils and staff, conditions of the school site and other emergencies.

A decision about whether to open the site will be made by the Executive Head Teacher and the Chair of the Governing Board, in the best interest of the children.
Often the decision to close the school can only take place in the morning. We are aware that this may present real difficulties for many families to find childcare provision at a short notice.

Newtown Nursery School will inform Birmingham City Council if it intends to close and this information will then be listed on the Birmingham Disruption Website : http://disruption.birmingham.gov.uk/

We will also update our website.

The responsibility for maintenance of the pathways outside school does not lie with the school. We urge you to take care when using the roads and pavements at all times. Our caretaker will grit/salt all of the paths on our school site during cold and icy weather to keep the children safe once at school.
The same procedure will be followed should we be unable to open for any other reason. Please ensure the school office has your up-to-date contact details. This is important in the event that we suddenly need to close or should your child become unwell.
